The U.S. NAVY is like so many American institutions, failing. The past 30 or more years we have seen time and time again, new leaders being created who are wimps, incompetent, and more Politically Correct than being disciplined military leaders.
This is the fault of the American voter more than anyone. As so many parents left the responsibility of raising their children to be good knowledgeable and patriotic Americans to others, and the others have stopped teaching Math, Geography, History, and Civics among other things, our kids are our adults today, and they are raising even a less capable generation.
So when the Liberals come a knocking to give everyone diversity, and free college and free healthcare, higher minimum wages, and more welfare and drug clinics and free abortion, they vote these miscreants into office.
Then these Miscreants, lie cheat and steal, hire and promote homosexuals, women, and Political Correctness people and policies in all areas of our Government including the military. The most recent few leaders in the Department of Defense, Chairman of Joint Chiefs, Martin Dempsey was a joke. The various secretaries of the military department branches worked to promote diversity, non English speaking people have been urged to become military members, Homosexual s have been encouraged to come in, Women have been integrated into jobs they should never have been put in, and incompetent people make stupid policies and decisions.
As to the NAVY, we have continually for years seen a new NAVAL strategy of LCS, Littoral Combat Ships, in layman’s terms, small ships designed for shallow water nearer to the coast. HAS THE WORLDS GEOGRAPHY CHANGED, DO WE NO LONGER HAVE MILES DEEP BLUE GIANT OCEANS, THEN WE NEED OCEAN GOING ALL WEATHER SHIPS.
These new LCS ships are Tinker toys, constantly breaking down. the leadership is exactly the same, breaking down, undisciplined, and failing. The last secretary of the NAVY under Liar In Chief, incompetent Barrack Hussian Obama, Sec. Ray Mabus in my opinion was a complete destructive force in harming the quality of the U.S. NAVY, People, ships and all the rest.
So along comes the political decision to build a star wars ship, the Zumwalt class destroyer, DDG-1000, the biggest destroyer ever.
Well, it is the most expensive, most ridiculous, and ineffective design ever created in my opinion. It has failed, time and time again. It still is not serving any NAVAL purpose even though it has been completed, launched, christened, commissioned, ect. it is a joke.
NAVY LEADERSHIP IS CORRUPT, AND INCOMPETENT IN TOO MANY CASES. The NAVY HAS LOST IT’S WAY AND MUST BE REFORMED.
The most recent totally outrageous and tragic collision of the USS Fitzgerald is just one more recent example. For those of you who may not know, a NAVAL ship is always staffed with a leader on the bridge, called the Officer of The Deck during my NAVY time.
The Captain cannot be on the bridge 24 hours a day, so watches are assigned, usually 4 hours in duration, where all task, Navigator, Radar operators, Sonar Operators, Helmsmen, Radio operators, Weapons, Engineering, all jobs are covered at all times, 24 hours a day, no import job is unattended, PERIOD.
So, this collision should absolutely, positively, not have happened. IT IS A PERSONNEL FAILURE OR FAILURES. LEADERSHIP, TRAINING, DISCIPLINE, AND ATTENTION TO DUTY WAS VIOLATED, AND THIS MODERN U.S. NAVY WARSHIP ALMOST SUNK.
What many of you also do not know is the damage to the ship in the photographs does not at all tell the story. You first must know about the Bulbous Bow. Ship designs for many years include what is known as a ” Bulbous Bow ” this is a snout for all practical purposes, an extension usually not seen as it is under water except when the ship is nearly empty of all cargo, but is protrudes out in front of the ship, and if the ship strikes another vessel, this bow will penetrate the other ship or object about 20 or more feet below the surface, causing severe underwater damage to what it strikes, When you view the photos of the USS Fitzgerald, you only see the above water damage. Below the water line, many men are sleeping at 2: am in the morning, and the only thing separating them from the Ocean water is about 5/8″ of steel. If you penetrate this steel, water rushes in. When that container ship struck the Starboard (right) side of the Fitzgerald, it opened the as if a large garage door had opened underwater in addition to the horrific shock of the impact of this giant ship striking the Fitzgerald, killing unsuspecting men, who assumed their NAVAL LEADERSHIP was in command and on duty to prevent just such an event. 7 died, I am amazed that more did not die. And people need to held accountable for this unnecessary and easily preventable collision caused by a failure of leadership.
